My Literary Escapism #3a: ‘The Night she disappeared’.
'The Night She Disappeared' by Lisa Jewell
I am writing the second part of the book review. The review might have spoilers, so if you do not want the spoilers, then come and read my review after reading this book.
I am so delighted that did book did not have any cliffhangers. It summed and roundabout any doubts and left me very clear, startled and astonished by the character's behaviour. We know about the map of Scarlett's house and the underground tunnel that leads to another room as we know at the end how that was relevant to Tallulah being locked up in there for a long time as no one about the house's underground existence.
I sometimes found it challenging to care about Tallulah and Zach, as they seem like a great couple. However, Tallulah's love affair with Scarlett seemed cute at the start but scandalous later. Zach was a complex character to like. Zach's behaviour would be changer regularly. He seemed to want the best for Tallulah and his baby son; on the other hand, he appeared very controlling, especially when she made her own decision and wanted the best for Zach was not part of it which he disliked and enjoyed everything.
I chose the book for that particular reason. Therefore, I loved the cute couple vibes and the scandalous behaviour of the characters. Jewell also included the author being an investigator and creating their mini team to investigate what happened, which was heartwarming. Jewell had all aspects of the pre-safety during and after when solving everything. I was more compelled and engrossed in finding out than scared.
Summarising this book, I relished this book. It has excellent mystery and plot twists, and it is very thrilling. The types of readers I would recommend this book to are young adults, fans of mystery stories, and who love an adventure. I enjoyed this because I read 'One of Us is Lying by Karen M. McManus, 'The girl before' by JP Delaney and 'The Dinner Guest' by BP Walker. The reviews for them are up, so don't miss them! If you end up reading these books or let me know your thoughts through my socials. If there are any exceptional books, you would recommend sharing them with me. Thanks, I will love to check it out.
My rating of the book:
Four and half out of 5.
