Review 1:
My first book review:
Review of 'The girl before.'
By JP Delaney
The book is about a girl who takes an opportunity to live in this new futuristic home of a lifetime. There are many twists and turns, so you better be ready for it. This woman known as Jane stumbles on a rental opportunity of a lifetime. The chance that many do not get to live in a beautiful ultra-minimalist house designed by an enigmatic architect.
Enter the world of One Folgate Street and discover perfection . . . but can you pay the price?
The narrative spoke through two woman's perspectives—one of the girls before Emma and the girl at the present moment, Jane. I liked the way they told it through this perspective as you get to see how their thoughts feelings of themselves and other characters. I felt like I was getting to know the characters as we read what and how the characters were supposed. They were in their minds.
My favourite character was Jane. All the other characters were quite suspicious and annoying; therefore, Jane's least chaotic character. Since I do not want to reveal any spoilers, I will leave it there.
All the characters felt authentic from what I read through the thought and feeling and how they interacted with the other characters. It took me some time to get used to the two main characters, changing quickly. It went through from Jane one minute to Emma the next.
The story kept me guessing throughout the story. After reading the first chapter hooked me, and I wanted to know why Jane/Emma wanted to live there? What happened previously in the house? What more is the enigmatic architect? It is one of a few fantastic books that was such a great read.
My favourite part of the book was every time at the end of the chapter. The author would end it so that you want to know what happens; however, it would be the other women's perspective and then hooked on her story.
The bizarre wrote the scenes so exceptionally. As I say that, I, as an audience, want to know more about the architect. The architect seemed very intriguing and perplexing. The book made me feel nervous due to who it might be since I don't want to reveal any spoilers. The book made me feel anxious and on the edge of my seat. The story gripped me and kept me turning the pages.
An enthralling psychological thriller book.
That spins one woman's seemingly good fortune and another woman's mysterious fate through a kaleidoscope of duplicity, death, and deception.
This is the copy that I have. The book also have other series which are named as ‘Believe me’ and ‘The perfect wife’. Do read that and subscribe to my blogs and instagram so you know when the reviews of the other book come live.
